Frequently Asked Questions
Students – please see below for information and Frequently Asked Questions about the event.
What do I need to prepare?
- Share your product in detail. Why did you choose this product?
- Overall summary of experience – what was the original design? What were your essential questions/learning goals? Did it change? Who was involved? What research did you conduct and how does it relate to your overall experience?
- How helpful were your reflection activities?
- What problems did you encounter along with resolutions?
- What knowledge and skills were gained? What personal growth did you experience?
- How does your ELO experience influence your future education and career goals?
- What would you do differently if given the opportunity?
Remember that your PRODUCT is a tangible artifact that demonstrates your learning through your ELO, and your PRESENTATION is when you share your product and explain your entire learning experience using the points above. If you have a tangible product that you can bring to the ELO Expo along with your tri-fold, that would be great.
Let Mr. Long know if you cannot get your own tri-fold and he can provide one for you.
What should I wear?
When should I have my tri-fold done, and where should I bring it?
Please have your trifold done turned into Mr. Long’s office (E112) by Friday May 22nd. If you can not get one please contact Mr. Long and it will be provided.
Who will I be presenting to?
Who should I invite?
Will this count as my final presentation?
What if I am a freshman, sophomore, or junior, and I haven't quite finished my ELO by the event date?
This is a good question! If you are a freshman, sophomore, or junior student, please create a tri-fold with your current progress on your ELO and try to make it as complete as possible. This event will give you an excellent opportunity to present your ideas for the first time, make some edits/changes, and end up with an exceptional final product by the end of the school year. Please reach out to Mr. Long with any questions.
